We spent some quality time in Minnesota last month. Alan likes to go watch basketball with Nathan during March Madness, and I decided to join them. I made it out on the last flight, but Alan had to return to the airport the next morning and take the 6:30 a.m. flight. I flew alone, feeling guilty that I was going to be the first one there--and it was Alan's party.
We weren't staying long, so I brought Five Little Ducklings, a book Emmy and I had read over and over while they visited in November. I thought that would speed up "the warming-up-to-grandparents" period. It did! Emmy got right to business reading books--and I was so happy!
I was so busy looking how cute Emmy's is, I didn't notice that her bow was upside down. Ooops!
I was in Grandma heaven. Emmy let me hold her, read to her, and love her. She and I went for a walk together one afternoon. Emmy chased the robins, yelling, "Bir." I couldn't help adding the "d' sound, just like in Bambi.
Emmy learned how to say "Bampa," which made Grandpa very happy. She has a mirror above her car seat, and when she saw Grandpa get into the front seat, she would call Bampa!
More and more and more stories.
Another favorite activity: The magic carpet ride!
This game is: Let Daddy chase me and scream like crazy.
The weather threatened rain each day, but we were able to go for walks each morning. Emmy decided to hold my hand all through the walk. Way to win my heart.
Emmy still loves her Tigger toy.
She has grown up into a booster chair.
Nathan and Briana bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. Briana made delicious food. We played games together. What a cute family!
Can't wait to visit again.
